Hey all, just wanted to let you know I took the plunge and opened an Etsy shop. www.CupcakesnSunshine.etsy.com
It's a work in progress, but it's a start. I'm very excited to see where this takes me.

Extra, Extra... Read All About It!
A very sweet friend of mine asked me to make her lovely daughter a newsboy cap. I won't lie, I sat there for ages working a pattern that just eluded me. So what does a smart woman do? She turns to Etsy. Many special and warm thanks to Lily of LilyKnitting for coming up with this pattern and giving me permission to add this style to my bag of tricks for the coming winter.
The resulting purple cap is not only adorable, but can be modified in any number of ways.
Thanks again Lily!

A Hat of Many Colors
A very sweet mama I know is getting ready to have a beautiful baby boy, so I got the opportunity to make something "Just For Fun" and this is the end result. Here's hoping that "Baby G" gets here safely, healthy and happy and when he's good and ready and gets a lot of use out of his awesomely colorful hat.

Plum Perfect!

Since the cooler weather has decided to abandon the US, I've not had as many chances to work up any new lovelies, so you can imagine my joy when a dear friend "E" in Australia asked me to work up a new wintery hat for her gorgeous blue-eyed darling! With her kind permission, allow me to introduce "S" sporting her new winter bonnet in plum with heather trim to bring out those gorgeous peepers!
Thank you "E" for rewarding me with such an amazing picture!

Save the Ta-Tas!
In an effort to help build awareness of breast cancer, my BFF has signed up for the 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer. During the past few weeks, she has been brainstorming on ways to raise money for the cause. She happened across an idea and quickly emailed me to see if I could come up with one. And I'm very pleased to say that I think I happened upon a winner.
Allow me to introduce the Boobie Beanie. It is almost as fun to wear as it was to make. No one will doubt for a moment the level of commitment the wearer has for the cause. While I'm sending a few to my BFF to auction in her fundraising efforts, I'm also selling them through here and am donating 15% of each sale to her team. Each hat is $15 plus shipping.

Fly Away Home Little Ladybug
I absolutely love when I'm approached with a creative challenge. Last week I was asked to recreate a hat that I'd never seen, nor could I manage to find a picture of it online. With only a basic description, this was the end result. A sweet little ladbug beanie for a super sweet little girl.
Once it was done, I did happen across the store where the original hat was seen and aside from the fact that my creation is crocheted and the original was knit, the two are pretty similar... though I think mine is cuter!

Adding a bill into the mix
The yarn used for this hat was an extremely yummy wool in a nifty neopolitan colorway. The baby receiving this hat will be truly styling and will premier the very first brimmed hat I've made this season. I want to thank the awesome mama who ordered this hat for allowing me the chance to be a bit creative and making a sweet hat for her precious little girl.
